Palmer was sentenced to seven years transportation to New South Wales for seditious practices as a result of his preaching Unitarianism to Scottish congregations. During his exile he set up a pioneer trading company, Boston & Co. and built ships to carry goods. Palmer died at Guam on the return voyage to England. From the description of [Letters].
